Nakhon Ratchasima City, Thailand
Nakhon Ratchasima is a city in the northeast (Isaan) of Thailand. The city commonly known as Korat, located about 260
kilometers from Bangkok. It famous statue of Khun Ying Mo, wife of the Deputy Governor of at during the reign of King Rama III.
However now it is considered a gateway to the Northeast (Isan).

How to get to the city
Nakhon Ratchasima Airport is 26 kilometers east of the city.Flights to Phuket, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin and Luang Prabang in Laos
was started in October 2010.Trains leave from Bangkok Railway Station (Huamlamphong) daily and can take anything from four
to six hours depending on what type of train you catch. Twelve trains a day leave Bangkok for Korat.There are two main bus
stations in Korat. The new bus station is the larger of the two and is just to the north of the city centre.

Cool Season: (during November to January). Average temperature 30 C. and much cooler at night. The coolest months are
December and January.
Hot Season: ( March to end of June) Average temperature 29.9 C. The hottest month is April, can be heavy rain during this time.
Rainy Season: (August to October). Average temperature 26.5 C. The wettest month is October.
Lifestyle
Nakhon Ratchasima is traditionally an agricultural province where people work in farming. Now more of younger generation are
moving to wrok in bangkok. The people are mixed-breed. There are Khmer ancestry, Laotian ancentry and Chinese ancentry. The
city continued to grow, helped by the arrival of the railway in the early twentieth century, and, today.

Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo (K Korat Zoo is one of the biggest in Thailand and, cliché or not, it really is a great day out. The zoo, some
20 km from the city centre, is set in the Korat countryside. As such, the site is huge. The animals live in vast, sprawling natural

Waterslide park - has an Olympic-sized pool, great to do some laps and stay in shape

Huai Yai Waterfall is a tourist destination under the care of Thap Lan National Park. Take Highway No. 304 to the market at Km. 79
for 6 kilometres. The entrance is a sloped walkway about 20 metres long.
What's on
Phimai Boat Races take place on the Moon river and are held yearly by the people of Phimai during the second weekend of
November. This event includes boats decorated competitions, local pro ducts sell.
Thao Suranaree Memorial Fair held from March 23 to April 2 to commemorate the victory of Thao Suranari. This event includes
cultural displays, exhibitions, and fireworks.
Phimai Festival held in Phimai historical park the same time as Phimai Boat Races. This events includes light and sound
presentation of Buddhist, historical, and cultural exhibitions.
